Taking it headon

Am I getting terrorized? Terror has sneaked into our lives and we are living with it. Now and then we are seeing a terror attack some where throughout the world. Is this a war? If so who are fighting against whom and for what? Is this for religion, which is just a belief in which one believes? These attacks have terrorized me and they have achieved a bit of success but I became more sympathetic to those who died in these attacks, who were at wrong place in wrong time. This episode has posed a lot of questions to me about our politicians, media, and our own educational system.

I was so disappointed when I came to know these attackers are educated and Indians. This again poses a big question, which has been bugging me for a long time. Is our education system serving its purpose? Education, which is totally misunderstood, should essentially build one's character. It should provide rational thinking. It should equip people to discriminate good and bad, ethics and morals, which are missing in these attackers. How can we infuse all these if we are having educational institutes based on religion? Officials having their own reservations for religion, caste and region. I am lucky enough to have studied in an institute where all these pseudo feelings are the least cared. I interacted with guys from different states and religions. It has changed me from being a gult (that's what we call people from AP) to an Indian. I learnt how to respect other religions, cultures. I learnt there is only one religion in the whole world that is Humanity.

Media has done a great job in covering all the terror attacks. Every one need to appreciate their level of commitment, in giving us the updates regularly by putting their lives in danger. Indian media has changed a lot in last half a decade but still it didn't come off the age. It is not an attack on MUMBAI. It's an attack on India. It’s not the mumbaikar spirit but it's the spirit of India. For the past two days I have been watching the news channels continuously and really annoyed when their screens showed "MUMBAI ATTACKED". Indian media should play a rather great role in infusing Nationality. I know it's the mumbaikar who is facing it now but it can be a Delhi vaala, a Madrasi, a Banglorean or a Hyderabadi but there is one common person who is getting affected, he is, an Indian.

Finally politicians, I don’t have to say anything more about them. Most of the Indian’s have already realised what they are. I strongly agree with one of that journalist who said, “I don’t know whether it is fortunate or unfortunate that no politician got killed in parliament attacks?” It’s really bothering me, why there was no statement from our first citizen of the country so far. I don’t want to write anything more on this. To all those educated Indians, we are lucky enough to get access to education unlike many of the Indians. Please leave all the apprehensions about religion, region and caste and try to see the fellow beings as humans rather then based on pseudo statuses.
